Singapore Tours - Singapore Heritage
Founded in 1986, the Singapore Heritage Society is a non-profit, non-government organization and registered charity. The Society is dedicated to the preservation, transmission and promotion of Singapore’s history, heritage and identity.

The Society aims to promote active interest in the cultural life and history of Singapore and to initiate action on research, evaluation, documentation, publication, collection, display, and preservation and restoration of skills and items of historical interest.

Over the years, we have been involved in many projects to raise awareness of Singapore’s history and cultural heritage, including publishing books, organizing talks and forums as well as conducting heritage tours for our members as well as the general public. Singapore Heritage play an advocacy role in advancing civil society viewpoints on issues such as the remaking of Chinatown (1998) and the demolition of the National Library building at Stamford Road (2001).

Both of these issues were in the spotlight of the media and the subsequent robust discussions and outpouring of public opinion did not go unnoticed. Singapore Heritage have also published several fine titles that include Living Legacy, Pastel Portraits and Our Place In Time – volumes that have over time acquired standing and regard in the academic community.
